Free Association is hiring! We’re looking for a Product Designer to join our team. In this role, you’ll bring hands-on design expertise to a variety of product design challenges.
Product Designers at FA are experienced hybrid designers who are obsessed with both form and function. Systematic and holistic, they are comfortable working at any phase of the product life cycle, blending traditional UX and visual design skill-sets with a high bar of quality and attention to detail.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of relevant industry experience
- Strong portfolio showcasing cross-platform digital product expertise
- Demonstrated ability to distill complex problems into simple and effective solutions
- Intuitive design instincts with the ability to track into research-driven processes
- Ability to self-manage, provide feedback and make decisions as-needed
- Experience with prototyping tools like Principle, Framer, or After Effects
- Experience creating, using and/or managing design systems
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Thoughtful, systematic and highly organized
Focus
- Focus on hands-on UI/UX design and process
- Delivers a thoughtful range of potential solutions in support of any challenge, obsessing over details and organizing artifacts with care.
- Frames all work through the lens of desired outcomes, informing design with support through research, strategic planning and the creation of basic UX artifacts (e.g. journey maps, wire flows, IA documentation)
- Create sketches, storyboards, prototypes, and design specs necessary to guide development of product experiences
- Create site maps, flowcharts, diagrams and other high-level UX documentation
- Makes valuable contributions to design system creation and improvement initiatives
- Develop new design concepts, frameworks and interaction models
